Solo: pure wonderful adventure. Alden IS Han. Glover IS Lando. Great palet cleanser after heavier TLJ and Rogue One. A true summer adventure. Not best film of the year or anything, but prepare to have a really good time.

#Solo was a blast. The Kasdans nail the character of Han Solo. Yes, the story is a series of expected events (Han meets chewie….etc) but none of them happen as expected. Stay away from spoilers, big Marvel-level shit that will make you wonder where Lucasfilm is headed next.

#Solo feels surprisingly unlike any Star Wars movie before, yet perfectly captures the tone, adventure, characters and humor of the #StarWars franchise. Also, I need a Lando movie in my life.

It’s hard not to laugh at Becket telling Han before a heist to stick to the plan and absolutely no improvising, seems like a meta commentary on the production problems. Regardless of any of the production problems, the finished film is going to make most fans happy.

#Solo is afun! I was pleasantly surprised that it worked as well as it did given all the behind the scenes drama & retooling. Charming cast, fun action, good jokes, good fan service but still does its own thing. #StarWars will be fine.

Alden made for a fine young Han. He’s not the Harrison Ford Han Solo but there are definitely plenty of homages and familiarity. He made it his own. Chewie and Lando are standouts as is Phoebe Waller-Bridge

ALDEN EHRENREREICH IS HAN SOLO! The movie is an absolute blast to hyperspace! #SoloPremiere #SoloAStarWarsStory #Solomovie

Wow. Just come out of #SoloAStarWarsStory and can confirm it’s kinda a blast. @donaldglover was as perfect as expected, but Alden Ehrenreich has swagger to match, and spare.

And also, L3-37 is utter scene stealer #SoloAStarWarsStory

More #Solo thoughts: Alden Ehrenreich doesn't remind me of Harrison Ford. He reminds me of Jack Nicholson if he's been cast as the smuggler in the original Star Wars. Wiseass. Easily scared. Bigger heart than he'd like. Jake Gittes of the galaxy. pic.twitter.com/gyAloWVmhM

Yes, Lando rules. But you already knew that. #Solo pic.twitter.com/iXSK5uPdYs

Ooo @StarWars fans you are in for a friggin TREAT w/ #Solo. Killer cast. A great adventure. So much fun. #hansolo

SOLO was SO much better than I was expecting! It balanced fan service w/ meaningful storytelling, and it’s an absolute blast. Full of Easter eggs & deep cut references. The cast oozed charisma, especially Donald Glover as Lando & Phoebe Waller-Bridge as L3-37. #HanSolo #StarWars pic.twitter.com/xzXNWleU15

Thrilled to say #SoloAStarWarsStory WORKS. Cast crushed it – true to what we know yet energetic, fresh. Only subpar thing – at least forty minutes wasted on scenes where characters wolf down raw vidalia onions? Third act drags too. Still, this is a REAL Star Wars movie – loved it

Bradford Young’s cinematography is incredible. Painterly light in a grittier #StarWars world than we’ve known. There’s a gorgeous shot of the Millenium Falcon in moonlight that mystifyingly match-cuts to a vidalia onion dripping juice all over a Twi’lek tentacle. Upsetting

Donald Glover is the standout. He IS Lando with even more swagger. I do wish he hadn’t chosen to end every scene by looking directly into the lens and shouting “toss me another, baby” to a camera assistant before receiving, then devouring a full vidalia onion. Otherwise terrific

One thing I didn’t expect was for #Solo to be as emotional as it was. When Han and Chewie meet the energy is just pure magic. Shame it had to be couched in a scene where the two spar over an “exquisite” vidalia in a Togrutan spice market, but to be fair it still worked

I figured if @DisneyStudios was willing to show 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' a few weeks before release it must be good and it absolutely is. Film is a blast and a welcome addition to the Star Wars universe. @RealRonHoward you did a great job. Congrats. pic.twitter.com/1pkWH2y6qE

Another thing about 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' that really stood out are the action set pieces. They were GREAT and so well choreographed.
Also thought Alden Ehrenreich was perfectly cast as Han Solo. Trust me entire cast was fantastic. Can't wait to see it again. pic.twitter.com/Sh5IC8qnSF

#SoloAStarWarsStory: It takes a bit for it to find its feet and for AE to turn on enough charm to make you forget he’s not HF. But once it kicks into its hey-let’s-make-a-crew and yes-also-do-a-heist stuff, it totally flies.

I don’t want to add too much more — review on Tuesday, y’all — but feel remiss to not add that Donald Glover is a delightful Lando and no one should sleep on what Phoebe Waller-Bridge does as his beloved droid. Solid supporting cast all around, but they are highlights.
— Kate Erbland (@katerbland) May 11, 2018
#SoloAStarWarsStory was a mostly fun adventure and solid performances but with a predictable story. Never will be one of my favorite #StarWars movies but I enjoyed enough of it.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is a goddamn delight. It’s a non-stop adventure packed with way more emotion than your expecting. You’ll have a smile on your face the whole time and leave eager for more. pic.twitter.com/fOsF7Tr95L
